NOWAR Tactical Baton - Tonfas (PARATONFA, MONADNOCK)
Okinawanian farmers „discovered“ the Tonfa although it’s origin was in China. It arose from the cutted end of a scythe or crutch. However, there are also notes which source that it was a crunch of millstones which was reconstructed as weapon. The reason for the development of a Tonfa was the prohibition of wearing a sword if one was not member of a Samurai caste. In order to defend against the sword, different field utensils were reconstructed or used for purposes other than intended. Today Tonfa is known as baton or multi-purpose baton. These new forms have nothing to do with the original weapon and the traditional use.
